A.P.O.C. GENERAL MEETING – Pacific Coast Branch                                    

Executive Present: John Wight, Marlys LaBrash, Carl Johnson, Rosann Janis, Craig Penman ,Brian Johannson, Sheri-Ann Chisholm.

Members Absent: Steve Gustard, Angela Burnett

Number of Members Present: 16

Motions made to adopt the minutes from the March 18, 2009 meeting, adopted and seconded. `

Correspondence: There are approximately 18 new members to sign up.  “If you want to contact the Executive or just keep up to date on current issues Please visit Our Web Site” www.apocpacificcoast.com.

Old Business: If members have any concerns regarding their Appraisals for 2009 or the Objectives, Action Plans and Performance Measurements for their 2009 Performance Management Plan contact their APOC Representative. APOC will help ensure that the process is followed. Update on Contract Negotiation. The Negotiation team continues to meet with the Corporation. Once a tentative agreement is reach the National Committee will conduct cross country information session before you vote. APOC Dinner Cruise see new business for update.

Sales Report: John Wight: No new issues reported No consultation held. There remains to be a lot of stress with Key Performance indicators. A motion was made to adopt this report. Adopted and seconded.

Treasurer Report: Brian Johannson: Treasury report read, balances noted. A motion was made to accept the report. Adopted and seconded.

VMPP Report: Sheri Ann Chisholm: No new items to report. Consultation to be scheduled. A motion was made to adopt this report. Adopted and seconded.

VPDC Report: Angela Burnett, John Wight : A shift change took place, One position moved from days to Afternoon and the weekend position was eliminated. A motion was made to adopt the report. Adopted and seconded.

Vancouver R&D Report: Marlys La Brash: Final sort is moving back to the plant The decision regarding the staffing issues has not been finalised. Consultation has been requested. This will result in four Supervisor positions being affected. These positions, two at Depot 74 , one at CDC and one RDC. A one day bid for R&D Supervisors. A supervisor, by seniority, bids on a vacant position, the other supervisors, by seniority bid on the resulting vacant position until all positions are filled. In other words all of the positions do not go up for bid. If you are confused please contact a member of the Branch Executive for clarification. A motion was made to adopt this report. Adopted and seconded.

Fraser Valley Report: Carl Johnson: Final Sort will be moved from Cloverdale, Langley, North Delta Depot and White Rock to Surrey Depot 1. Grievances still being filed for Uncovered Absences continue to be filed. A motion was made to adopt this report. Adopted and seconded.

Grievances: Steve Gustard, John Wight: We are in the process of filing 9 new grievances. One Grievance will be referred to Dave Watters to determine if the grievance will go to Arbitration. A motion was made to adopt this report. Adopted and seconded.

Health & Safety: We wish Daniel Hylands and Don Le Barge a long happy retirement. Ken Nyman and Rob Foster are off sick and we wish them a speedy recovery.

New Business: The APOC 2009 Boat Cruise September 19, 2009 Harbour Princess

By now all of the members of the Branch have received two tickets in the mail. If you did not receive your tickets please notify a member of the executive. Boarding begins on September 19, 2009 at 5:30 pm and we set sail promptly at 6:00 pm. If you are interested in going please submit your tickets along with your cheque as soon as possible. The cutoff date is May 29, 2009. Remember that tickets are limited so to avoid disappointment don't delay sending them in. Please mail the tickets and your cheque to APOC - Pacific Coast Branch. PO Box 82000, Burnaby, B.C. V5C 5P2 ( Boat Cruise). Bring the other part of the ticket as your boarding pass. Your boarding pass will also be used for the door prizes. Tickets are for members and their guest only. Please refer to the branch web site for further updates. No news to report as far as the Job Evaluation or Postal Transformation.
